Abstract

ZnTech represents the latest technology in zinc based anti-corrosive primers. ZnTech delivers impressive cathodic and barrier protection that rivals the old style zinc dust primers. It is easily applied with conventional spray equipment and applicators will love the topcoat ready surface in less than 1 hour. Due to the lower zinc levels in ZnTech more of the sticky epoxy resin is available to provide superior adhesion compared to traditional zinc dust primers.

Surface Preparation

Remove all dirt, grease, oil, loose rust, scale or other surface contaminants from the substrate. On ferrous substrates SSPC SP6 Commercial Blasting is a minimum requirement. SSPC SP10 will enhance the performance of the coating system.

Mixing Instructions

Mix 4:1 by volume Base/Cure. We recommend using a squirrel cage mixer or equivalent to mix thoroughly for 5 minutes minimum. Reduce to desired viscosity. Allow 15-30 minutes induction time before using. Mix only sufficient material to use within a 6-hour period. Always add Cure component to Base component - NEVER THE REVERSE. Never mix coating or individual component from one vendor with that of another vendor.
